It is understandable that people are concerned about the appearance of their faces. This is because your face is what you show to the world. It is what people use to identify you, and so it is what defines you. If the skin on your face is damaged or blotchy or has pigmentation issues, acne scars, or fine lines and wrinkles, this will affect the way that other people see you. As everyone knows, the way that a person sees you affects the way they treat you.

For this reason, people are constantly looking for ways to improve the appearance of their faces. While there are some surgical options available, these procedures are extremely invasive, expensive, and risky and require a large amount of downtime. What most people want is something that is relatively quick, and allows them to get back to their normal routine in the shortest amount of time possible. This is where SkinMedica® chemical peels come into play.

Chemical peels have been used by the rich and famous for decades as a way to keep their skin looking flawless all the time. However, chemical peels are not just for the rich and famous. It is estimated that each year, more than 11 million people in the United States use chemical peels to make themselves look better.

Both men and women can experience the benefits of SkinMedica® chemical peels. There is no age limit for getting a chemical peel. All that is required is that a person is concerned about the appearance of their skin and wants to restore their youthful glow.

SkinMedica® chemical peels are an effective way to treat a wide range of conditions, including sun exposure, acne, fine lines, and a dull complexion. A chemical peel can make the difference between lackluster skin and vibrant skin. One of the reasons for this is because a chemical peel leads to increased cell turnover. This, in turn, minimizes the appearance of hyperpigmentation and blotchy skin.

During a SkinMedica® chemical peel, a solution is applied to your face. This solution dissolves the external layers of your skin. When this happens, the skin heals itself and revitalized, new tissue emerges. The damaged skin will eventually begin to flake or peel off, revealing the smoother skin.

SkinMedica® chemical peels come in different strengths. A light chemical peel may simply exfoliate the skin. A medium-strength chemical peel may affect the dermis and the epidermis. This type of peel would be used to address things like sun damage or fine lines. A deeper chemical peel, which may require some downtime, is a powerful tool that can address serious skin issues.

SkinMedica® chemical peels at Nuance Aesthetics can address fine lines and wrinkles and boost your confidence. They are relatively inexpensive, they provide fast results and they can reverse damage caused by the sun. They are an excellent way to revitalize your skin and make you look young again. Jackson Rhudy, MD

Owner/Medical Director

Dr. Jackson Rhudy is a board-certified physician who has been practicing in Salt Lake since 1974. After an initial career in emergency medicine, he developed an interest in the new technologies emerging in the field of aesthetics utilizing non-surgical techniques such as lasers, Botox, and injectable fillers. He sought training from leading experts in the aesthetic field at multiple locations in the US and Europe and in 2000 he founded an aesthetic practice called Light Touch Laser Skin Care Center. It rapidly became a leading aesthetic practice in the Salt Lake City area. In 2010, he sold the practice and focused on his other endeavor, Optimum Clinical Research– a private research site that performs clinical trials on new pharmaceutical drugs. But continuing demand from former aesthetic patients led to the formation of a new aesthetic practice in July 2015. Reuniting with a former colleague, Jill Miller, they started Nuance Aesthetics—a practice devoted to providing excellence in the field of non-surgical aesthetics by offering experience and expertise with the utmost integrity. Dr. Rhudy maintains his board certification in emergency medicine and is the only physician in Salt Lake City who is board certified in laser surgery.

When Dr Rhudy isn’t in the office, he loves riding his bike up City Creek. He has always had a passion for learning and growing in the medical field which is why he spends a lot of free time researching the latest treatments and technology that keeps Nuance ahead of the curve.
