WHAT TO EXPECT IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT?

Most patients can return to their day-to-day activities immediately after their CoolSculpting treatment session.

Brief tingling or stinging sensations.

You may experience stiffness and/or transient blanching (temporary whitening of the skin) in the treated area(s).

Slight nausea or dizziness may occur for a few minutes as your body readjusts to its natural warmth and sensation.

Redness in the treated area(s) may persist for up to a few hours after the applicator is removed.

Any bruising, swelling, numbness, and/or tenderness that occurs will resolve within two weeks. Bruising on the legs may take longer to heal.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IN THE WEEKS FOLLOWING TREATMENT?

It is very common for the treated area(s) to feel bloated or swollen in the first few weeks after treatment.

A temporary dullness in sensation could occur for several weeks.

During the first two weeks after a treatment session, you may experience deep itching, tingling, numbness, tenderness to the touch, severe cramping, diarrhea, muscle spasms, aching, and/or soreness. If any of the symptoms mentioned persist or worsen after two weeks, please contact our office.

The treated fat cells will gradually break down and flush from the treated area(s) as the body breaks them down.

Approximately 25% reduction per treatment.

COOLSCULPTING POSTCARE AND LONG-TERM MAINTENANCE

Schedule a follow-up appointment approximately three months after each treatment to review your results and decide whether you need further treatments.

Once your treatment package has been completed and you are happy with your results, you should try to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regimen so that your body’s remaining fat cells do not grow.

Jackson Rhudy, MD

Owner/Medical Director

Dr. Jackson Rhudy is a board-certified physician who has been practicing in Salt Lake since 1974. After an initial career in emergency medicine, he developed an interest in the new technologies emerging in the field of aesthetics utilizing non-surgical techniques such as lasers, Botox, and injectable fillers. He sought training from leading experts in the aesthetic field at multiple locations in the US and Europe and in 2000 he founded an aesthetic practice called Light Touch Laser Skin Care Center. It rapidly became a leading aesthetic practice in the Salt Lake City area. In 2010, he sold the practice and focused on his other endeavor, Optimum Clinical Research– a private research site that performs clinical trials on new pharmaceutical drugs. But continuing demand from former aesthetic patients led to the formation of a new aesthetic practice in July 2015. Reuniting with a former colleague, Jill Miller, they started Nuance Aesthetics—a practice devoted to providing excellence in the field of non-surgical aesthetics by offering experience and expertise with the utmost integrity. Dr. Rhudy maintains his board certification in emergency medicine and is the only physician in Salt Lake City who is board certified in laser surgery.

When Dr Rhudy isn’t in the office, he loves riding his bike up City Creek. He has always had a passion for learning and growing in the medical field which is why he spends a lot of free time researching the latest treatments and technology that keeps Nuance ahead of the curve.
