Botox/Dysport Pre & Post Care

TREATMENT TYPE: 30 MINUTES
ANESTHETIC: VIBRATING T-BAR
RECOVERY TIME: REDNESS AND BUMPS SUBSIDED 5-10 MINUTES AFTER TREATMENT. POSSIBLE BRUISING CAN LAST A FEW DAYS DEPENDING ON YOUR BODY.
NOTICEABLE RESULTS: EFFECTS CAN BE NOTICED AS LITTLE AS 24 HOURS. FULL RESULTS ARE SEEN AT ABOUT 2 WEEKS FOLLOWING TREATMENT.
TOUCH-UP: TOUCH-UPS SHOULD BE DONE AT THE 2-WEEK MARK WHEN NEUROTOXIN IS AT ITS PEAK.
NUMBER OF TREATMENTS NEEDED: MAINTENANCE EVERY 3-4 MONTHS

PRE CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • If approved by your primary care provider, avoid blood thinners for one week before your injection. This includes Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Garlic, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Ginkgo Biloba, and Primrose Oil.
  • Refrain from alcohol for 1–2 days before treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.
  • Bruising is always a possibility. Taking Arnica beforehand is optional and may help minimize bruising.
  • Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face if possible.
  • Neurotoxin treatments will not be administered if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Avoid Botox/Dysport if you have a neuromuscular disorder.
  • Botox/Dysport is a medication:
  • More units = stronger effect & less movement once fully active.
  • Fewer units = more movement once fully active.
  • More units = longer-lasting results.

POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
  • Preferably, do not apply makeup for at least 4 hours after treatment, waiting 24 hours is ideal.
  • Remain upright for at least 4 hours post-treatment.
  • Avoid massaging or putting pressure on the treated area for 24 hours. If your forehead was treated, avoid wearing a tight hat.
  • Be patient—full results develop over two weeks. Additional Botox/Dysport will not be administered within this time.
  • Schedule a follow-up after two weeks if you need adjustments.
  • Results typically last 3–4 months, but some movement may return between 6–10 weeks.
  • If bruising occurs, continue avoiding alcohol for 1–2 days as it may worsen the bruising.
  • Some patients find that taking Arnica after treatment helps speed up bruise healing.

Call the office at 801.557.5200 immediately if the treatment areas become red or hot to the touch in the days following treatment.

This is my all time favorite place for aesthetic improvement.
The atmosphere is friendly and intimate. People talk you through it the processes in detail.
