Pre-Care Instructions

MOXI Laser Treatment Guide

To ensure safe treatment and optimal results, please follow these guidelines before your appointment:

Be mindful of sun exposure prior to treatment:

  • Use daily SPF
  • Wear protective clothing (hat, sunglasses, etc.)

1 week prior to treatment, discontinue:

  • Retinols / Tretinoin
  • Hydroxy acids
  • Exfoliants
  • Waxing or other skin irritants

Inform your provider if you have taken Accutane within the past 6 months.

Disclose any medications or medical conditions that may:

  • Increase sensitivity to light
  • Affect healing
  • Thin your blood

Notify your provider if you have a history of cold sores/herpes near the treatment area (preventative medication may be required).

Do not schedule treatment if you have:

  • Active cold sores
  • Open wounds
  • Irritated or infected skin

Arrive with clean, dry skin:

  • No makeup
  • No skincare products
  • Avoid Botox, fillers, Sculptra, or Kybella for at least 1 week prior.
  • Shave treatment areas with coarse hair before your appointment.
  • Avoid sunless/self-tanner for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
  • Inform your provider of any additional skin concerns or conditions prior to booking.

Post-Care Instructions

Proper aftercare is essential for healing and achieving the best results:

First 24-48 Hours

  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 24 hours.
  • Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen daily.
  • Do not engage in activities that raise body temperature for 48 hours (e.g., exercise, saunas, hot tubs).
  • Wear protective gear such as hats, sunglasses, and sun-protective clothing.

General Care (First 1-2 Weeks)

  • Use a gentle cleanser twice daily.
  • Keep skin well hydrated with recommended post-care products.

Avoid:

  • Scrubbing or exfoliating
  • Retinols, hydroxy acids, or harsh skincare products
  • Waxing or shaving
  • Excessive sweating
  • Very hot or cold water
  • Pools, spas, and chlorinated water

What To Expect

Skin may feel like sandpaper for 1–2 weeks (normal and often not visibly noticeable).

After completing your initial series, continue maintenance treatments ~3 times per year to maintain results.
