If approved by your primary care provider, avoid all blood thinners one week before having your injections. This may include Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Aleve, Motrin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Garlic, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Ginkgo biloba, and Primrose oil.
Avoid alcohol 1-2 days prior to treatment to lessen the chances of bruising. Bruising and swelling are always a possibility.
Plan procedures 2-3 weeks before important events.
No dental work 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
Arnica is optional prior to treatment to help minimize bruising.
If possible, come to your appointment with a clean face, free of make-up.
We will not treat you with dermal fillers/injectables if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or leaving town within 5 days.
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
Do not apply make-up preferably for 4 hours after treatment. Waiting 24 hours is best.
Continue to avoid alcohol for 1-2 days if bruising occurs as it could worsen.
If approved by your primary care provider, continue to avoid blood thinning medications for up to 1 week as bruising occurs.
Some people feel that continuing to take Arnica after treatment (while bruising persists) can help to heal bruising faster.
No dental work 2 weeks after your treatment.
Do not massage the treated area. Fillers will settle and soften on its own.
Cheek filler: Don’t sleep on the side for your face for 48-72 hours.
Do not get IPL/BBL or microneedling for 1-2 weeks.
Call the office immediately if the areas treated become red or hot to the touch days after treatment.
Call the office 801.901.8800 as soon as possible if patchy, red, or hot patches appear in the treatment area or around the treatment area, if you have severe or increasing pain, or if the area becomes red or hot to the touch after the procedure
